Shanghai Neuromedical Center

Shanghai Neuromedical Center was established in 2013 by Professor Guo Hui, a renowned returned overseas scholar, internationally acclaimed epilepsy surgery expert, former assistant professor at New York University, and recipient of multiple honors including Shanghai Health Commission's Outstanding Individual Award, Shanghai "Top Ten Doctors" nomination, and Shanghai "Leading Talent" designation. The hospital is a nationally recognized medical insurance network-designated institution, a key livelihood project in Shanghai's Putuo District during the 12th Five-Year Plan period, certified by the National Stroke Center Alliance, and a national wound care training base. In 2020, the hospital dispatched a medical team to support Wuhan, earning commendations from both Shanghai Municipal Committee and national authorities.

With 350 patient beds, Shanghai Neuromedical Center is established as a Grade III-A (Tertiary) specialized neurological hospital, primarily focused on clinical neuroscience (brain medicine) with a "strong specialty-focused, selected comprehensive services" operational model.

In 2017, the hospital was designated as the Shanghai Clinical Medical College and Shanghai Neurological Medical Center of Qingdao University, a key national university, which makes it the only privately-funded hospital in Shanghai qualified to recruit and train master's students and postdoctoral researchers, offering a complete academic training system spanning undergraduate, postgraduate, and postdoctoral programs, establishing itself as a key university-affiliated teaching hospital. In June 2020, the hospital graduated its first cohort of regularly-enrolled postgraduate students, marking a historic milestone in Shanghai's privately-run medical education.
